Introduction
La maladie valvulaire dégénérative (MVD) est une cardiopathie acquise fréquente chez le chien, pouvant représenter jusqu’à 75 % des cas d'insuffisance cardiaque congestive (ICC) dans cette espèce. La MVD, parfois aussi appelée « endocardiose valvulaire », « valvulopathie myxomateuse » ou « maladie mitrale dégénérative », provoque un épaississement et une déformation progressive des valvules cardiaques, la valvule mitrale étant la plus souvent touchée. Dans de nombreux cas, la valvule tricuspide présente des modifications similaires.
