La malformación tipo Chiari y siringomielia (MCSM) son un complejo patológico reconocido habitualmente en perros Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (CKCS) y Grifón de Bruselas, pero puede estar presente en muchas razas caninas pequeñas.1,2 Antes de la aparición del diagnóstico por la imagen con RM, este problema era difícil de diagnosticar y no se conocía en medicina veterinaria. Desde su descripción el año 2.000 no hemos esforzado en comprender la relevancia clínica de los hallazgos de RM, en particular en CKCS debido a sus muchas otras anomalías en RM, incluyendo la otitis media secretora primaria (OMSP).
