Conditions that threaten the health and wellbeing of the pregnant mare can be especially challenging to diagnose and treat. With a large fetus that occupies most of the abdomen and two- dimensional imaging modalities, a straightforward diagnosis can be elusive. Unexpected twins, colic, placentitis or musculoskeletal conditions are often not as straightforward as they seem. This session will provide lessons learned from pregnant mares while navigating the limitations imposed at the end of gestation.
