Skin tumours are common in horses. A recent survey of tumours diagnosed by a pathology laboratory found the commonest to be: sarcoid (24% cases), squamous cell carcinoma (19%), lymphoma (14%), melanoma (6%), gonadal stromal tumour (6%) and mast cell tumour (4%) [1].
