Introduction
Laser surgery offers minimally-invasive modalities of treatment of many upper airway obstructions and anomalies. The flexibility of the laser fibres allows delivery of laser energy to any place an endoscope can be introduced. The addition of laryngeal forceps adds traction to the tissues being resected thus increasing the speed and accuracy of the procedure. These minimally-invasive benefits are eliminated with inappropriate use of the laser especially through laser energy contact with laryngeal cartilages. This presentation will focus on technical tips and procedure modifications. Evidence-based data is sparse in this area and will be used when available.
