Most pets are fed commercially available diets for the majority of their intake. However, there is no product that is the best for every animal. The most appropriate diet for your patient will depend on its body condition, life stage, activity level, pet and owner preference, availability, cost, and any disease processes that may be present. Most dogs and cats can thrive on many different types of diets. Of course, the more constraints that are present will narrow the list of available options.
