La obesidad es un desorden nutricional con un balance energético positivo. Si el exceso de peso, como consecuencia del incremento de grasa, sobrepasa el 20% se considera al paciente obeso. La prevalencia de la obesidad varía entre un 11,5% y un 63%, según estudios.
