Ultrasound guided aspiration is an indispensable tool in today's clinic. The tapping technique is not very difficult. The only goal is to keep the needle in the cutting plane of the probe. First, the lesion to be aspirated has to be located, scanning the adjacent areas in search of large vessels or highly vascular structures. Long needles are used, 40mm, and 21-27 G. Then the area is disinfected and the needle is inserted ahead of the probe. It is important to display the tip of the needle at all times. Once inside the lesion, rapid cutting movements must be performed. If you suspect that the mass may be a sarcoma, or previous attempts have not succeeded obtaining material, you can use a syringe attached to the needle and aspirate while the movements are performed.
