About this course
Are you using the right antibiotic therapy or are you unsure of what drug to use and how long for?
Decision making with regards to antibiotic therapy can at times be challenging. Antibiotics are an essential tool for treating many equine conditions however, there is much scrutiny on the use, misuse and abuse of antibiotics particularly in relation to prophylaxis. This lecture aims to address the rational use of antibiotic therapy and guide the practitioner when to use antibiotics, what antibiotic to use and how long for. This lecture will include example cases of clinical scenarios commonly encountered in equine practice as well as up to date information on rational antibiotic therapy and tips to avoid antibiotic misuse. The information will be highly practical and relevant all equine practitioners.
