Fluid therapy is one of the more common treatments used in veterinary medicine. The end goal of fluid therapy is to achieve adequate haemodynamic, effective circulating volume and perfusion while maintaining hydration. Different types and rates of fluid can be used to achieve this goal. This talk will focus on the role of endothelial glycocalyx and its implication in fluid therapy.
