PANEL DISCUSSION DESCRIPTION
For the past 20 to 30 years systemic joint medications like Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan), Pentosan (pentosan polysulfate sodium) and IV HA (hyaluronate sodium) have been regularly used by equine practitioners worldwide. Despite the widespread use of these drugs, opinions on their efficacy and beneficial effects on joint health in equine athletes remain divided. How do they compare? What protocols should be used for maximum efficacy? How should they be used, preventatively, therapeutically or for both purposes? Should all competition horse in training be treated with one or a combination of those drugs? What value for money do we provide to horse owners by using those drugs? Are there specific OA syndromes which may benefit more or less from such therapies? Is there anything we can learn from the use of such drugs in either other veterinary species or in man?
The international panel consisting of an academic, specialists in private practice and a first opinion practitioner will be debating the above questions under the watchful eye of a highly respected academic, surgeon and equine joint researcher.
Panel Discussion Registration Process: Once you have registered and upon payment, you will receive the link to access the on-demand recording for a period of 8 weeks.
