Programme
Session 1: Diagnosing CHF in dogs: sorting the B-lines from the tram-lines
This session will cover how to approach diagnosing congestive heart failure in dogs, using tools available in clinical practice. Dave will discuss the key clinical signs, how to get the most from radiographs and ultrasound and how to avoid the common traps.

Session 2: Diagnosing CHF in cats: how to do a RAPID CAT exam
In session 2, we will go through how cats do things differently and how to spot this. We will discuss getting the most from the clinical examination and how to rapidly and safely diagnose CHF.

Session 3: Managing CHF in dogs and cats: SPAF and beyond
This session will cover diuretic uses and abuses, what other drugs to use, and when. We will talk about short-term and long-term management of CHF and how to optimise heart failure therapy.

- Use of diuretics – frusemide, torasemide and beyond
- Use of positive inotropes and anti-thrombotic
- Monitoring of CHF from afar including SRR
- Draining effusions
