After graduating from the University of Glasgow in 2000, Jo Ireland worked in equine first opinion practice in the UK, before completing her PhD in equine geriatric health and welfare at the University of Liverpool in 2011. Jo then spent 6 years working in the Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance group at the Animal Health Trust, before returning to the University of Liverpool in 2017 as a lecturer in equine practice, where her role combines first opinion practice and research. Jo’s main research interests are equine epidemiology and internal medicine, particularly geriatric medicine and endocrine disorders.
