Key information
An introduction to diagnostic ultrasound in orthopaedic disease. A series of lectures in the morning cover common diseases of the distal limb, including superficial flexor tendonitis, suspensory and AL-DDFT desmitis, and the ultrasound anatomy of the lower limb, carpal sheath and tarsal region. The afternoon is spent working in small groups, rotating through hands-on practical scanning of the forelimb and hind limb with ample time to work on skills taught in the lectures, leaving you both confident and competent in orthopaedic ultrasound of the equine patient.
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate a logical approach to diagnosis and treatment of common diseases of the equine distal limb
- Demonstrate the practical skills required to acquire accurate ultrasound images of diagnostic quality of the equine distal limb.
