Previous Level Your privacy

IVIS recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of information we collect from our subscribers. To this end, we are committed to using our best efforts to respect your privacy. It is our intent to balance our legitimate service interests in collecting and using information received from and about you with your reasonable expectations of privacy. The following is the way we handle information learned about you from your visit to the IVIS website.

Previous Level What personal information do we collect from our website visitors?

The IVIS website is available free-of-charge to professionals in the field of animal health care (veterinary students, veterinarians and researchers). To gain access to the IVIS website you need to register and provide information that allows us to verify that you are eligible to visit the IVIS website. We do not collect any personal information without your knowledge!
The kind of information we request in the registration form includes your name, e-mail address, country of residence and professional activity. We also ask you questions about your professional activity and the training you received. Not all of the information we request is required, and you may leave any of the optional questions unanswered.

Previous Level What happens to the information we collect?

The information that you provide to us when you register is not shared with anyone outside of IVIS. We use the information that subscribers provide to customize our announcements about new IVIS content and services.

Previous Level Why do we collect this information?

The information you provide helps us to improve our website content and to personalize your experience on our website. We use the information you provide to send you e-mail announcements about new IVIS content and services, only when you have chosen to receive our Newsletter. We may also send announcements, free gifts or special offers by e-mail on behalf of our sponsors, from time to time, if we feel that the mail would be relevant to your needs.
We absolutely never provide your e-mail address or name to anyone outside of IVIS.

Previous Level Security

At IVIS, we understand and respect your concerns about privacy. Access to our customer database is restricted to only those employees who have a specific need for access to that data in order to do their job. And even then, access to subscribers' data is password protected.

Previous Level Freedom of choice: "opting-out"

You do not wish to receive the IVIS Newsletter? We give our website subscribers the opportunity to "opt-out" of receiving the IVIS Newsletter. In the registration form, there is a box that you can check to indicate you do not wish to receive the IVIS Newsletter.
For visitors who decide that they no longer wish to receive our newsletter, there are three options for "opting-out":

  1. Go to your registration information form. Click the box to "opt-out" to stop receiving future IVIS Newsletters.
  2. Click the "Click here to unsubscribe" link that is provided at the bottom of each newsletter.
  3. E-mail a short note to let us know that you no longer wish to receive e-mail from IVIS.

Previous Level How to update your registration information?

Through the one-stop convenience of the Registration Management Center you can sign up to receive e-mail notices of new content and services or "opt-out" of such mailings. Once you have registered with us, you may update or change your personal profile at any time by visiting the Change my registration information section of our website.

Previous Level Legal disclaimer

We may disclose personal information when required by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary in order to conform to the edicts of the law or to comply with a legal process served on our website.

Previous Level What happens if we change our privacy policy?

We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected. We may choose to change our privacy policies in the future. At the time we decide to make any changes, however, we will post those revisions on this page so our visitors are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under which circumstances - if any - we disclose it. If at any time we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from what was stated at the time we collected it, we will notify you by e-mail. IVIS visitors will choose whether we use their specific information in a different manner than what was presented at the time they submitted that information.

Previous Level "Cookies" and how we use them

A cookie is like an electronic identification card. It is a small string of code placed on your hard drive by our webserver. A cookie is not a program. It cannot execute or carry out any operation on your computer! Due to the need to log-in when visiting our website, cookies need to be turned on in your browser program. The cookie allows our server to recognize you each time you move to another page in the IVIS website and thereby removes the need to re-register each time you request a new IVIS webpage. You will not be able to visit the IVIS website when cookies are turned off in your browser program.
Cookies can tell us how and when pages in a website are visited and by how many people. Cookies do not collect personal identifiable information; therefore we do not collected any personal information other than what you provide when you register.
Cookies also allow our server to identify you when you come back for another visit. Cookies benefit you in that we automatically recognize you when you come back to our website and that allows us to tailor the information presented to you - based on your personal needs and past interactions with our site. Cookies also help us to better understand our visitors' interests and patterns - and that means we are able to create a better website!
