Introducción
Algunas patologías endocrinas en el perro y el gato se diagnostican en raras ocasiones. Esto puede deberse a que son poco frecuentes, pero también a que no se llegan a diagnosticar. Conocer la existencia de una enfermedad influye directamente en la frecuencia de su diagnóstico. En este artículo se revisan algunas de las alteraciones hormonales menos frecuentes. No se pretende realizar una evaluación exhaustiva, sino más bien una sinopsis de algunas de las denominadas endocrinopatías “emer- gentes”, centrándonos en el hiperaldosteronismo felino, la acromegalia felina, la diabetes insípida central, el enanismo hipofisario y el hipoparatiroidismo primario.
