La maladie d’Addison, ou hypocorticisme, est une insuffisance de sécrétion d’hormones stéroïdiennes par les glandes surrénales. Chez le chien, la cause la plus fréquente est l’insuffisance surrénalienne primaire, responsable d’un déficit à la fois en hormones glucocorticoïdes (principalement le cortisol) et en hormones minéralocorticoïdes (principalement l’aldostérone).
