Bacterial endometritis is an important cause of subfertility in the equine breeding industry. Diagnosis of all cases of bacterial endometritis can difficult in a clinical setting. Collection of an endometrial sample for microbial culture and cytology can easily be processed within a veterinary practice to allow for a rapid diagnosis allowing for appropriate treatment to be performed. There are many options in treating acute cases of bacterial endometritis.
