Implementation
When you have decided to invest to the Class IV therapy laser, there is a time to make an implement plan for your team. You have thought the need for it, you have basic patients, as we have heard earlier today. You have to know your patients as well as your staff, because providing therapy laser requires team work, no matter how small or big your team is.
It all has to do with attitude, and I think if you ́re professional, you have to leave your own opinion behind (sometimes), be a professional and give patient the absolute best treatment plan and make it happen. It is the same with all the new things, thoughts etc. in this business. Once you have tried therapy laser, you have the right attitude, but make sure your staff also has it.
Rome was not built in one day, so make sure to make your initial investment calculations as realistic as possible, and only include the types of patients where you know that there will be a realistic chance of the owners choosing laser therapy. In our case that meant osteoarthritis, post-surgical and patients with wounds. After a few weeks you will see, that when everyone is more familiar with laser therapy, the amount of indications starts to rapidly increase, and the timeline for recouping the investment will get shorter and shorter. It is however very important, that you do the implementation right. Otherwise it could happen, that your staff starts to be afraid of it, or have the attitude ”there is no time for laser, we don ́t know how to use it etc.”. It is therefore crucial to learn to use it at first with the easy indications, and then enlarge the business and amount of indications from there.
