About
Studying online
Stream is Massey's online learning platform. Depending on your course, you could be using Stream to watch online presentations, interact with lecturers and peers, take quizzes, submit assignments and more. Stream gives you greater control of your learning by allowing you to replay or re-read lessons you’re not clear about.
Assessments and examinations
Depending on your course, you might:
- submit written assignments
- complete online quizzes
- participate in online discussion forums
- attend contact workshops, field trips or practical exercises
- sit exams on campus or at one of our distance examination centres.
Using the Library
As a distance student you can access a wealth of resources and contemporary publications through our award-winning Library from anywhere in New Zealand. We can send you course-related books by post and help you access journal articles.
In-person attendance
Some of our distance courses include contact workshops or placements you need to attend in person. These provide you with opportunities to meet other students, receive face-to-face tuition and gain real-life experiences. Most contact workshops are held on Massey University campuses. Once you've received information about your contact workshops or placements, you will need to make your own travel and accommodation arrangements.
