Blood loss is one of the most common clinical presentations of anemia in animals and may have different causes. The blood loss can be internal or external, localized or multifocal, induced or spontaneous, and peracute, acute, and chonic. Therefore blood loss anemias can be associated with different clinical signs and laboratory test abnormalities presenting as emergency to chronic disease.
