Our journal took a new encouraging turn with the “Veterinary Information Network” (VIN) requesting the Israel Journal of Veterinary Medicine to be included in the VIN on-line library. I regard this as a great honor indicating the status and value of our journal. This follows our inclusion also in the International Veterinary Information Service (IVIS) website. The presence of our journal in these two websites will certainly enhance our visibility further.
Some background about these two important veterinary internet sites: Since 1991, VIN, is a veterinarians-only group providing clinical information, continual education, collegial support and ancillary services online. VIN provides up-to-date database of veterinary information and a large team of specialists who faithfully help colleagues online. IVIS is a non-profit organization offering information to veterinarians, veterinary students, technicians and animal health professionals worldwide using internet technology. The IVIS website provides original, up-to-date publications, proceedings of veterinary meetings, journals, short courses, an international calendar of veterinary events and much more to the veterinarian.
The articles published from Israel and elsewhere are of a high standard. I am making every effort to maintain our goal of keeping within the scope of the journal which is veterinary based articles from the Mediterranean basin area. Not withstanding I have to comment that I would like to see more articles from our local Israeli veterinarians.
The present journal has some interesting contributions on aspects of welfare, bacteriology, virology and some thought-provoking case reports.
On behalf of the editorial board I wish all our readers a Happy and Healthy New Year and look forward to receiving many more articles in 2018 and onwards.
Best regards to all.
