    Doel van deze presentatie is om helderheid te scheppen in het doolhof van wet-en regelgeving, databases, verwachtingen van overheidsinstanties in binnen- en buitenland en de NVWA, zodanig dat u uw klanten zo goed mogelijk kunt voorlichten en begeleiden en dat de samenwerking en communicatie met de NVWA verder verbetert.

    Enkele voorbeelden:

    Uw klant wil met een paard naar Duitsland (of een ander EU-land): Wat heeft hij nodig? Er dient een gezondheidscertificaat te worden opgemaakt door een NVWA-dierenarts. Hoe gaat dit in zijn werk?

    Export van paarden naar derde landen: Landen buiten Europa stellen vaak hoge eisen voordat ze een paard toelaten. Er moeten soms monsters onderzocht worden, gezondheidsgaranties worden afgegeven, paarden moeten soms enkele weken in isolatie, enz.

    De practicus speelt hierbij een centrale rol. Hij/zij neemt de monsters en stuurt ze naar het lab. Voor diverse gezondheidsgaranties vraagt de NVWA een verklaring van de practicus over het paard en over de bedrijven waar het de afgelopen maanden verbleven heeft. De NVWA geeft dus garanties af aan een derde land, op basis van uw verklaring.

    Sinds 1 januari 2016 is de nieuwe verordening paardenpaspoort 2015/262 van toepassing in alle lidstaten. Bij een eerste identificatie is, vanaf 1/1/2016, niet alleen een chip, maar ook een schets of een foto en een beschreven signalement verplicht. Bovendien dient het paard geregistreerd te worden in de database van het land waar het langere tijd verblijft.

    Bij paarden die geschikt zijn voor humane consumptie, is het van belang dat de practicus het medicijngebruik in het paspoort vermeldt. Bepaalde medicijnen maken een paard ongeschikt voor humane consumptie. Indien u die medicijnen toedient, dient u het paard tijdelijk of definitief ongeschikt te maken voor humane consumptie, zowel in het paspoort als in de I&R database.
