Disfagia
La disfagia consiste en la dificultad para deglutir, que puede deberse a una obstrucción, a un trastorno orofaríngeo o esofágico doloroso o a un problema de motilidad (Washabau, 2005). El síntoma principal es la regurgitación.
La regurgitación se define como la expulsión pasiva de saliva o de alimento no digerido. A menudo ocurre muy poco después de la ingesta del alimento, aunque en el caso de la regurgitación de saliva también puede producirse más tarde. Al contrario que el vómito, la regurgitación aparece de repente sin síntomas prodrómicos ni contracciones abdominales (Guilfort y Strombeck, 1996b).
Los trastornos esofágicos también provocan otros síntomas clínicos:
- sialorrea
- halitosis
- disorexia o anorexia
- odinofagia (deglución dolorosa)
- polipnea
- tos o secreciones en el caso de neumonía secundaria. […]
