La persistance de certains arcs vasculaires au cours de l’embryogenèse peut être à l’origine d’une com- pression extrinsèque de l’œsophage ayant pour conséquence la formation d’un jabot en amont de la striction.Letyped’anomalieleplusdécritestlapersistancedu4e arcaortiquedroit(Twedt,1994):l’œsophage est enserré dans une bride formée par l’aorte, le ligament artériel résiduel – non vascularisé – et l’artère pulmonaire. Le diagnostic est radiographique (dilatation œsophagienne proximale localisée) mais aussi endoscopique et le traitement est chirurgical. D’autres anomalies sont rapportées chez les carnivores (double arc aortique, persistance d’artères sous clavières) mais ces défauts de conformation demeurent exceptionnels dans l’espèce féline. […]
