Le traitement conventionnel des inflammations du parodonte comprend trois étapes :
- thérapie initiale: expliquer les mesures d‘hygiènes appropriées
- contrôler les facteurs de risques : diabète sucré, insuffisance thyroïdienne, FeLV, FIV...
- éliminer la plaque et le tartre par détartrage et surfaçage radiculaire et/ou débridement sous gingival.
