Las patologías hepáticas son relativamente frecuentes en el gato. El complejo colangitis-colangiohepatitis y la LHF, son las principales causas de enfermedad hepatobiliar, seguidas de las neoplasias (linfoma y tumores de vías biliares). Otras enfermedades hepáticas de origen inflamatorio incluyen las enfermedades infecciosas, como la peritonitis infecciosa felina (PIF) y la toxoplasmosis.
