El diagnóstico de la pancreatitis aguda se basa en una asociación coherente de signos clínicos, resultados clinicopatológicos y elementos de diagnóstico por imagen. Puede que sea necesaria una biopsia obteni- da quirúrgicamente para confirmar el diagnóstico y para diferenciar una inflamación de una neoplasia.
> Anamnesis
La anamnesis puede desvelar episodios recientes de indiscreción, de ingestión de alimentos tóxicos (p. ej., chocolate o alimentos muy grasos) o de administración de medicamentos. Los signos clínicos más frecuentes son letargia, anorexia, posición encorvada, vómitos (con o sin sangre), diarrea (con o sin sangre), frecuencia respiratoria incrementada y abdomen voluminoso. Algunos perros pueden presentar ictericia precedida de vómitos.
Se puede manifestar poliuria y polidipsia en perros con diabetes mellitus asociada a la pancreatitis. […]
