La diagnosi di pancreatite acuta si basa su un’associazione di riscontri clinici, di laboratorio e di diagnostica per immagini compatibili. Per confermare la diagnosi e per distinguere l’infiammazione dalla neoplasia può essere necessaria una biopsia chirurgica.
> Anamnesi
L’anamnesi può rivelare un episodio recente di scorrettezze alimentari, ingestione di sostanze tossiche (ad es., cioccolato o alimenti ricchi di grassi) o somministrazione di farmaci. I segni clinici comuni sono rappresentati da letargia, anoressia, atteggiamento rannicchiato, vomito (± sangue), diarrea (± sangue), aumento della frequenza respiratoria ed ingrossamento dell’addome. In alcuni cani, esiste un riferimento anamnestico ad ittero preceduto da vomito.
Nei cani con diabete mellito e pancreatite possono essere presenti poliuria e polidipsia. […]
