Anamnèse et signes cliniques
Les symptômes d’urolithiase sont principalement dus à l’irritation de la muqueuse du bas appareil urinaire, qui se traduit par des signes de cystite et/ou d’urétrite. Les symptômes les plus communs sont l’hématurie, la dysurie et la pollakiurie. Parfois l’urolithiase conduit à une obstruction urétrale, qui constitue une urgence médicale et chirurgicale. Les calculs rénaux peuvent de plus être responsables d’une pyélonéphrite, d’une obstruction à l’écoulement de l'urine, d’une réduction de la masse rénale, d’azotémie et d’une insuffisance rénale.
