I segni clinici dell’urolitiasi sono principalmente dovuti all’irritazione della mucosa delle basse vie uri- narie, che esita in manifestazioni di cistite e/o uretrite. I riscontri più comuni sono rappresentati da ematuria, disuria e pollachiuria. Occasionalmente, l’urolitiasi può portare ad ostruzione uretrale, che è un’emergenza medica e chirurgica. I calcoli renali possono ulteriormente causare pielonefrite, ostruzione del deflusso, riduzione della massa renale, iperazotemia ed insufficienza renale.
