Prävalenz des Diabetes mellitus beim Hund

Diabetes mellitus ist eine der häufigsten endokrinen Erkrankungen unter Hunden mittleren bis fortge- schrittenen Alters mit gegenwärtig weiter steigender Prävalenz. Vor 30 Jahren wurde bei 19 von 10.000 in tierärztlichen Kliniken vorgestellten Hunden die Diagnose "Diabetes mellitus" gestellt (Marmor et al., 1982; Guptill et al., 2003).
