    Diagnóstico diferencial

    En le gato, todos los subconjuntos del granuloma eosinofílico son patrones de reacción muco-cutánea.

      Ulceras indolentes (o eosinofílicas o roedoras) afectan comúnmente los labios superiores uni o bilateralmente (Fig. 2-53), pudiéndose presentar en la cavidad oral o en cualquier otra parte del cuerpo (Fig. 2-54). Las úlceras bien circunscritas con bordes levantados son rara vez dolorosas o pruríticas; con frecuencia el propietario esta más preocupado por las lesiones que el gato. Los diagnósticos diferenciales de la úlcera eosinofílica del felino son enfermedades neoplásicas tales como carcinoma celular escamoso y úlceras infecciosas (las úlceras eosinofílicas con frecuencia son infectadas de manera secundaria). El diagnóstico se confirma por medio de la biopsia. Se recomienda un tratamiento antimicrobiano previo si la citología indica infección.

      Las plaquetas eosinofílicas se presentan típicamente sobre el abdomen o parte interna de los muslos, bien circunscrita y muy pruriginosa (Fig. 2-55).

      Los granulomas eosinofílicos (lineales) no son pruriginosos, son elevados, firmes, amarillentos y claramente placas lineales y se presentan mas comúnmente sobre los muslos caudales (Fig. 2-56).

    Los diagnósticos diferenciales tanto de las placas eosinofílicas como de los granulomas incluyen las neoplasias y los granulomas bacterianos y fungales (Tabla 2-10). Los procedimientos de diagnóstico por excelencia son la citología y la biopsia. Después de confirmar el diagnóstico, la causa subyacente necesita ser identificada, si es posible, y ser tratada.

    Control de pulgas, glucocorticoides, antihistamínicos, ácidos grasos esenciales

    Atópica (hipersensibilidad a aeroalergenos tales como polen, ácaros del polvo casero o esporas de hongos)

    El diagnostico se basa en la historia, examen físico y por eliminación de diagnósticos diferenciales. Pruebas de piel intradérmicas permiten la formulación de inmunoterapia

    Inmunoterapia a alergenos específicos, antihistamínicos, ácidos grasos esenciales, glucocorticoides

    Reacciones adversas a alimentos ( Puede o no ser alérgica, comúnmente reacciones a proteínas, rara vez a un aditivo, indistinguible clínicamente de atopia

    Dieta por eliminación

    Impedir la ingestión, antihistamínicos, ácidos grasos esenciales, glucocorticoides

    Granuloma eosinofílico ideopático (generalmente de origen genético)

    Descartar posibles hipersensibilidades

    Glucocorticoides, antibióticos
