As part of my Presidential year I felt it was important to engage with the membership in every way possible to better understand the current changes within our profession. Clearly, ‘Recruitment and Retention’ is a global veterinary concern, and as such I undertook a survey of our membership looking at all aspects of our employment structure. This is a follow on from Renate Weller’s survey and the data are directly comparable and quantifiable. These data have been analysed, and sector specific focus groups will now be set up to identify changes and hopefully solutions to the negative trends. BEVA are committed to working with our membership to enable the best possible levels of professional satisfaction and equine welfare.
