Scientific evidence is the product of appropriately designed and carefully controlled research studies, with randomised controlled trials (RCT) providing the highest level of evidence for evaluating efficacy of interventions under real-world conditions. An evidence-based veterinary medicine (EBVM) approach is important for improving the success rates of clinical decisions, saving lives and providing better standards of care.
