Equine sarcoids are the most common form of skin neoplasia reported in the horse and account for up to a third of all reported neoplasia. The age, breed and sex of the animal are important factors in the risk of the development of the disease [1]. Bovine papilloma virus has been implicated in the aetiology of the development of equine sarcoids [2].
