Historically, it was thought the ankle joint was not suitable for arthroscopy. Today ankle arthroscopy is a regularly surgical technique for impingement syndromes, cartilage management, joint fusion, tendon debridement and ligament repairs or ligament reconstruction. The indications continue to rise as techniques and instruments advance.
