Refining the question
The most important question that should be addressed is: Do exogenous corticosteroids cause laminitis? Secondarily, we can then consider: Is it possible to screen for laminitis risk?
Strategy for searching for evidence
The following databases were searched: CAB abstracts and Medline (Keyword search terms used: equine, laminitis, horse, corticosteroids, triamcinolone, prednisolone, methylprednisolone, dexamethasone).
