BEPS was founded in 1983 by members of the veterinary faculties in Ghent and Liège in close collaboration with enthusiastic equine practitioners. BEPS is a non-profit organisation that focuses on improving equine veterinary care in Belgium. An annual scientific meeting is organised since 1991.
