Infection risks in equine hospitals is quite real. . Some infections, and particularly those touching the digestive system, can lead to the death of the horse and to the " economic death " of the equine hospital. As a result, it is our duty as practitioners to be aware of such risks. The prevention of infection risks includes three stages :
- Diagnosis or identification of the risks
- Proceedings aiming at decreasing them or removing them
- Assessment and control allowing us to make sure the policy is effective.
