Hospital-induced infection remain a considerable cause of mortality or morbidity among human patients. Data on such infections among equidae are incomplete. Owing to its impact, enterocolitis with salmonella is the subject of extensive research. After dramatic episodes of salmonellosis, thorough and strict prophylactic plans were elaborated in the USA. In France, for lack of recent studies, it is difficult to assess their prevalenc. Little information is available to estimate the involvement of French veterinary surgeons in the fight against such infections. Yet a close study of risk factors makes it possible to anticipate an increase in their incidence. Thus, after a bibliographical research on these infections among equidae, we consider it absolutely indispensable to start a feasibility study so as to assess the knowledge and the involvement of French vets regarding hospitalinduced infection. Then it will be possible to carry out a retrospective or prospectivestudy based on this work ....
