Tibial Tuberosity Advancement Part 1-4: Lecture Series
Tibial Tuberosity Advancement Part 1: CCL Rupture Pathophysiology and Review of the Meniscus
This lecture reviews the pathophysiology of the cruciate ligament deficient stifle in the dog, including a discussion regarding clinical presentation, stifle palpation, instability tests and stifle radiography. The lecture also includes a discussion on canine meniscus management.
Tibial Tuberosity Advancement Part 2: Surgical Theory, Biomechanics, and Pre-op Planning
This lecture includes discussion on the Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) surgical theory and biomechanics with a comparative to the TPLO technique. The lecture also teaches preoperative planning including optimal radiograph positioning, how to identify stifle land marks, and both the TPA method and common tangent method of TTA surgical planning.
Tibial Tuberosity Advancement Part 3: Instrumentation, Surgical Technique, and Post-Op Management
This course is designed for the veterinarian who wishes to learn/refine the Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) technique and to understand the major advantages of the XGEN “forkless” TTA system. The TTA technique will be taught in a step-by-step fashion using a demonstration on a live case. Attendees will learn proper osteotomy positioning, screw and cage placement, plate sizing, use of cuttable cages, and concurrent MPL correction. The lecture also includes discussion on postoperative management and rehabilitation. After attending this lecture, attendees will be prepared to practice the technique on cadavers during the recommended hands-on workshop.
Tibial Tuberosity Advancement Part 4: Complications
This lecture focuses on complications associated with the Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) surgical technique. Attendees will learn how to identify, avoid, and manage potential complications.
