Attendees will be exposed to key instruments and techniques involved with the job of surgical extractions in the dog and cat. Essential instruments will be discussed along with their advantage in regards to better surgical outcomes. Flap design and tips for extraction technique will be discussed using slides as well as video to demonstrate principles in both the dog and cat. Surgical complications will be discussed, focusing on both their prevention and treatment. Attendees should gain more comfort with surgical extraction technique and have a better understanding of some of the possible complications that may occur.
