About this course
Are you confident blocking above the foot? Do you know how blocks can diffuse and which structures they desensitise?
Although the majority of forelimb lameness localises to the foot in many cases it does not. This requires blocking more proximally with abaxial sesamoid, low 4 point, lateral palmar, median and ulna as well as all the synovial blocks. In addition, correct interpretation of these blocks is imperative in order to arrive at the correct diagnosis. There has been a significant amount of research defining which structures are desensitised by each block, often with surprising results. This well illustrated course will walk you through placement and interpretation of these blocks with hints and tips of how to pace them successfully.

The course is aimed at equine practitioners who are keen to develop their skills in lameness diagnostics. Delegates will learn how to place the blocks safely and effectively as well as what to conclude from the results.
