Chronic kidney disease: the new paradigm of early diagnosis and treatment
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects over 30% of cats aged 9 years and older, making it one of the most important conditions in felines. Traditional biomarkers and other diagnostic modalities are poorly sensitive for the early diagnosis of CKD, making early intervention and treatment difficult. In this interactive case-based lecture, Drs. Chalhoub and Boysen will discuss how new biomarkers and understanding of CKD pathophysiology are changing the paradigm of late CKD diagnosis and treatment to earlier staging and intervention.
