Course Description
This course is designed for: ACVS Specialists and Residents to discuss, plan and practice treatment of complex fractures of the distal humerus and elbow joint. It is intended to foster discussion and practical exploration of new innovations in these treatments and to provide a safe peer-to-peer environment for surgeons wanting to grow their skills and comfort with these challenging cases.
Humeral condylar fractures are sometimes simple procedures, but other times are complex, challenging, and may require multiple hours in the operating room. Advancements in our understanding of humeral intracondylar fissure (HIF) (formerly called incomplete ossification of the humeral condyle – IOHC) have spawned innovative new treatments. We’ll shared ideas and strategies , as well as spend time in the “surgeons’ playground” of novel and innovated implants and instrumentation designed to make surgeons better.
We’ll create space for open discussion where you can share techniques that have worked well for you (or even techniques that have NOT) while learning from other participants’ experiences and ideas. This is the summit where you can feel comfortable because you’re with your peers who can be transparent in what they’ve been doing, what seems to work and what has not … as well as what they’d like to learn. This “no attitude” summit is all about learning together and exploring new frontiers.
CSU VetCE is an ACVS educational partner. This course can be used toward maintenance of ACVS re-certification.
