This highly practical 2-day course with practical sessions  

on both days was designed to allow veterinarians to start to get familiar with the ultrasound machine.  By the end of the course, it is expected that delegates will be proficient in some of the basic techniques of ultrasound. 

Objectives:

Course Objectives include, principles governing image  

generation, using equipment controls, recognition of normal organ structure, hands-on scanning of FAST exam, hands-on scanning of the liver, spleen, kidneys, and bladder, aspirate and biopsy practice on phantoms as well as incorporating ultrasound into practice 

  • Principles governing image generation 
  • What, when, and why of equipment controls 
  • Recognition of normal organ structure 
  • Hands-on scanning of FAST exam 
  • Hands-on scanning of the “Big 5” (liver, spleen, kidneys, and bladder) 
  • Incorporation of ultrasound into your practice 

Who Should Attend?  

This course is for veterinarians and technicians who wish to begin, or build upon, ultrasound skills and incorporate this diagnostic tool into their practice.
