International Conference on Avian, Herpetological, Exotic Mammal, Zoo and Wildlife Medicine 2024
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Organising Committee of the ICARE 2024, we are pleased to invite you to join us in Ghent, Belgium, 20-24 May 2024 for the 6thInternational Conference on Avian, Herpetological, Exotic Mammal, Zoo and Wildlife Medicine.
We will combine an exciting conference covering the latest information, review and key stone lectures, as well as wet labs and masterclasses. A programme is being put together with renowned international speakers and will be available soon. The conference, as usual, will attract a wide range of delegates, including specialists, professionals, clinicians, scientists, students, veterinary nurses, animal caretakers and decision makers.
Ghent, once medieval Europe’s second largest city, over the past century this unsung treasure of a town has developed a strong artistic bent, and is now one of the best places in Europe for culture – there are many fantastic museums and galleries here, and more listed buildings than any other Belgian city. Ghent’s architecture is elegant and imposing, particularly along the scenic old Graslei harbour, and grand medieval cathedrals and the Gravensteen castle congregate nicely around the central public squares.
ICARE 2024 is taking place at the Bijloke site in Ghent. It had been a centre of health care for centuries, now it is a unique arts and culture campus in the middle of an impressive historic building complex on the banks of the river Leie. The Bijloke site really has it all: characterful historic rooms, up-to-date facilities, and great services and catering.
So on behalf of ICARE and the rest of the Organising Committee we look forward to welcoming you to Ghent!
Yours faithfully,
Gunther Antonissen, DVM, PhD, Dipl. ECPVS An Martel, DVM, PhD, Dipl. ECZM (Wildlife Population Health)
