Theophanes graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) in 2015 with first-class honours. After serving as a veterinary soldier in the Hellenic Army fulfilling his one-year national military service, he completed a Small Animal Internal Medicine Internship in the Companion Animal Clinic of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) 2016/2017. Then, he moved to the UK to attend a one-year Neurology/Neurosurgery Internship in the Dick White Referrals (Newmarket) 2017/2018. After spending one year in general practice in Scotland, he joined the Neurology/Neurosurgery Service of the University of Glasgow. His special interests include neuro-ophthalmology, vestibular disease, neurotoxicology and oncologic neurosurgery.
