Linda Evans qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon from the Royal Veterinary College in 1979.

• Specialises in disease control and welfare with particular expertise in operational delivery and stakeholder engagement.
• Expertise in the policy and practical delivery for the eradication and control of bovine TB.
• Skills and experienced in training, development, audit and project planning.

She worked in both mixed and small veterinary practice before joining the State Veterinary Service, as it was then, during the Foot and Mouth outbreak in 2001 and continued to work for the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) for 16 years.

Her roles included; Veterinary Services Manager, Veterinary Business Partner and Government Veterinary Supervisor.

She specialised in bovine TB and represented the UK on the EU Task Force for Eradication of bovine TB for the EU Commission,. This involved visiting countries within the EU to provide advice on their eradication programmes and she was a co-author for the update to the Working Paper for Eradication of bovine TB in Member States.

She had a large role to play in the implementation of policy for bovine TB and has skills in project management, engaging people and collaborative working and vast experience in operational implementation. 

She led the audit for the outbreaks in Devon during the 2001 FMD outbreak and developed an interest in audit and compliance which has continued throughout her time in APHA.

She has experience in writing operational instructions and producing advice and guidance as well as in training and presenting to large audiences. She is currently collating and editing an updated version of The Professional Handbook for Donkeys
